Our verdict
The Explorian E310 has been the entry Vitamix since 2017: a 2 HP motor, a 48 oz container, a speed dial with ten speeds, and pulse and start/stop switches. There are no programs or timer. Its 5-year full warranty covers parts, labor and two-way shipping.
In 2026 its place is being taken by the VX1. Vitamix still lists the E310 in the US and Canada, but a major Vitamix retailer describes the Explorian line as discontinued, and several retailer listings for it have been removed. The VX1 offers a 2.2 HP motor and a 64 oz container, though its warranty is limited rather than full.
The E310 still makes sense if you find it discounted or prefer the shorter 48 oz container to the VX1 tall jar. At 18 inches it is a little taller than the Ascent models, so check your cabinet clearance.
