Pros

1800 peak-watt base with a 72 oz pitcher
BlendSense auto programs set the speed and time for you
Pitcher, lid and blades are top-rack dishwasher safe
17.5 in tall and under 9 lb, light for a full-size blender

Cons

One-year limited warranty, far shorter than Vitamix or Blendtec
Peak watts flatter it: Ninja rates the motor at 1200 W continuous
Line dates from 2023, so there is little long-term owner evidence

Best for: Smoothie and frozen-drink households who want strong, automatic blending for less and accept a shorter warranty.
Not for: Buyers who want long warranty cover or a machine bought to last a decade.

Our verdict

This is the model to weigh when you are asking whether a Ninja is good enough. The base is rated at 1800 peak watts (1200 W continuous), the 72 oz pitcher, lid and blades go in the dishwasher, and the BlendSense programs choose the speed and time for you, which some buyers prefer to a Vitamix-style dial.

Where it falls short of Vitamix and Blendtec is durability cover: the warranty is one year. The owner reports we found don't show a pattern of motor failures on the Detect line, but the line only dates from 2023, and cracked pitchers do come up in repair forums for older Ninja models.

For smoothies and frozen drinks a few times a week it is a sensible value choice. If you want one blender for ten years, a longer-warranty machine is the safer buy.
