Our verdict
Nano is the first dedicated personal blender in the current Vitamix range. A 1000 W base drives a stainless-steel blade under 20 oz cups, and a single dial either runs the SmoothiePilot program, which senses the blend and sets speed and time, or gives you variable speed. Two cups and two to-go lids come in the box, and the cups are dishwasher safe.
It is aimed at smoothies and frozen drinks for one, in a base 8.5 by 5.5 inches and 15.3 inches tall. That makes it a good fit for small counters, offices and dorms where a full-size machine would be overkill.
The trade-offs are scope and warranty. It does not replace a full-size Vitamix for family batches, and its warranty is three years limited against five to ten on the countertop models. If you already own a non-SELF-DETECT Vitamix, the Personal Cup Adapter is the other way to blend single servings.
